Colonial Williamsburg

Friday night and Saturday morning we visited Colonial Williamsburg. Friday night we just strolled around the streets, but Saturday morning we bought the tickets that allowed us to tour the buildings and lean more about the history of the place. Colonial Williamsburg is a self-guided living museum, where you meet people dressed in costumes of the era, and visit the homes and shops and learn how life was back then.

It was quite an experience. We met a basket weaver, a spinner, a shoemaker, and others. We visited old buildings and churches, and learned quite a lot. The kids and I will be incorporating some of this in our homeschooling, since we are studying American History right now. It is so cool to be able to have these "field trips".
